How the practice works

Assessments guide the design.

In­te­grat­ed Di­ag­no­sis con­sid­ers the build­ing as a whole: struc­tur­al de­ci­sions can af­fect fire safe­ty, com­part­men­ta­tion can af­fect the en­ve­lope, and en­er­gy im­prove­ments can af­fect struc­tur­al loads. Con­sid­er­ing the as­sess­ments to­geth­er helps eval­u­ate how tech­ni­cal de­ci­sions af­fect one an­oth­er and es­tab­lish pri­or­i­ties be­fore de­sign be­gins.
